Which Juicer Is The Best: The Top 3 Juicers On The Market In 2016

Content may contain affiliate links

In this post, I’m going to cover a bunch of juicing questions, and which juicers are the best on the market for the money in 2016. There is no one size fits all juicer that’s the best at everything, but most people want a good quality juicer that’s quiet, affordable, long lasting, gets the most juice out of whatever you buy, and will juice a wide variety of fruits and vegetables well. After juicing for almost 10 years now, and owning three different brand juicers myself, my #1 top pick if I were buying a new juicer today would be the Omega J8006. I’ll add the best juicers for the money to each section, and by the end of this article you’ll be able to decide which model is the best juicer for you.

The Top 3 Juicers On The Market In 2016

The top three juicers on the market in 2016 are: The Breville Juice Fountain Plus for an affordable juicer on a budget, the Omega single auger masticating juicer for the easiest juicer to clean and most economical, and the Green Star twin gear masticating juicer for maximum juice extraction with no pulp winning this year.

My opinion the most affordable and cheapest juicer to get started with his the Breville Juice Fountain Plus, or the Omega masticating juicer, depending on what your needs are. If it were me buying my first juicer again, I would choose the Omega J8006 juicer without question. With the omega, you’ll be able to use a wider variety of produce such as leafy greens, herbs, Ginger, and any other fine soft vegetables and get the most money out of the produce you buy. If I had a little bit more money to spend I would buy the Green Star twin gear masticating juicer (which is what I use now), as it uses magnetized metal gears inside the auger assembly that seem like they will last a lifetime. They also maximize the amount of juice that you get, and have interchangeable screens to allow you to make juice with or without pulp for the ultimate flexibility

The best value on the market right now for the money though is the definitely the Omega J8006. You get the best of bold worlds in terms of high yield and affordability, and it’ll juice anything you can throw at it very well, including wheatgrass!

Which Juicer To Buy If You’re Not Sure Which Type Is Right For You

If you’re not sure which type of juicer is right for you, and you don’t know which one to buy, here is what I would recommend you do… Base your decision on the type of produce you want to juice and your maximum budget you have for a new juicer. For example, if you wanted make a lot of green juice and juice a ton of leafy greens, but still be able to add in other assorted veggies with dense fruits and veggies like apples and carrots, the best type of juicer to get in this situation to be a single gear masticating auger juicer. You need a budget of around $150 – $300 for this, but you can get a top quality juicer for under $300 that will juice every type of produce you can throw at it.

If your budget is under $100, the best juicer you can get is a Breville Juice Fountain at around $99 with free shipping from Amazon. This will serve you well and definitely get you into the juicing game on a tight budget, and is one of the cheapest juicers you can buy that won’t fall apart after a couple uses. (the ultra cheap juicers like you see at Walmart for around $50ish, typically break or the cutting head screen will bend after a couple juice sessions) The biggest drawback to a centrifugal juicer such as this Breville Juice Fountain that I’m recommending, is the fact that you’re going to have a hard time to get much juice out of leafy greens, herbs, etc… It does do an exceptionally good job on any harder or coarse vegetables like celery, carrots, ,apples, and fruits. (including oranges, lemons, and so forth) But you will really struggle to get any quality juice out of herbs and leafy greens like parsley, dandelion greens, kale, spinach, etc…

Which Juicer Is Best For Leafy Green And Veggies?

If you want to use primarily leafy greens and veggies you definitely want to look towards a masticating juicer over a centrifugal juicer. Biggest reason for this is the yield very difficult to get a high yield out of leafy greens another colorful green vegetables if they’re not ground up and squeezed, which is exactly what a masticating juicer does

On the flip side the cons of a masticating juicer are normally the shoot that you feed your produce into the juicer with his smaller and requires you to cut up your more dense vegetables in smaller pieces. But that’s a small price to pay for being able to juice kale Swiss chard dandelion greens spinach and pretty much any other green leafy vegetables that you like. If you were to put these greens in a centrifugal juicer you would get hardly any juice and simply waste your money at the supermarket.

What are the best juicers for juicing leafy greens in the one I use is a green start with gear masticating juicer. it’s a little on the expensive side at around $500 but it’s extremely high-quality and last most people over 5 years. the build quality is top-notch and he’s as metal Gears inside the juicer as opposed to plastic and a lot of competing juicer brands comma but if you’re new to juicing and on a budget I would highly recommend the Omega single auger masticating juicer for two reasons colon one it’s much easier to clean because it has less parts comma into it will group it will juice all of your leafy greens and give you great yield as a beginner juicer for a lot less money. the model I would recommend is fairly cheap and around $150 and the last year for many years to come parentheses I have a friend who has this exact model and last of me all the time because of how many parts there are to clean the green star… He says they spend 5 minutes max cleaning his and I spend 10 minutes taking mine apart soaking the parts and then drying and putting it back together in parentheses

Which Type Of Juicer Is Best For Fruits And Large Veggies?

The best juicer for large fruits and veggies is going to be a vertical wide mouth style juicer, such as the Kuvings whole wide mouth, or the Kuvings centrifugal juicer, also with a wide mouth chute. This will allow you to take a feed it whole fruits and vegetables without having to slice them at all. Whole apples, carrots, whole stalks of celery, beets, oranges, and many other large fruits and veggies you would want to juice in large quantities are perfect for this style of juicer.

Of course keep in mind like we talked about before, the centrifugal juicers are going to have a hard time juicing leafy greens and herbs, but if you primarily want to make fresh orange, juice apple, carrot juice, or juice large veggies for a cleanse, a wide mouth centrifugal juicer will definitely get you in the game on the cheap!

Which Is The Best Juicer For Wheatgrass

The best juicer for wheatgrass is going to be any masticating juicer, either a twin gear or single auger will work well. If you want to go the cheap route and get a manual wheatgrass juicer, try this Lexan hand crank juicer which is rock solid. (mine is still going strong after years of use!)

For an electric wheatgrass juicer, I’d still go with the Omega J8006 or the Omega J8003 if you’re on a budget. Both will work exceptionally well for juicing wheatgrass, the more expensive option just has a longer warranty and bigger collection trays/chute. If you want more detailed information comparing the individual models and options, I did a more detailed post on the best wheatgrass juicers on the market right now.

Which Juicer Is Best For Kale, Spinach, And Parsley

Kale is similar to other leafy greens and wheatgrass, in that a masticating juicer that will grind up and crush the leaves as they’re being squeezed, is the key to getting maximum yield from this type of produce. The main reason this is so important, is because if you try and use a centrifugal juicer to juice kale, most of your money will end up in the trash, and very little juice in your glass. For juicing kale, I recommend the Omega J8006 or the Green Star twin gear.

Which Type Of Juicer Produces The Most Juice?

The type of juicer that produces the most juice is definitely any of the masticating juicers, or a cold pressed juicer, but those are typically reserved for commercial applications, such as the Norwalk style. The biggest reason that I don’t use a compression juicer, is because it’s normally a two-step process: first you have to grind up the produce into a pulp or smaller chunks, and second, then you place it in a strainer bag and stick it between the mouth of the compactor and the jaws squeeze together to crush the ground up produce and separate the juice from the fiber. Technically this style of juicer is the highest yield juicer in the industry, but is generally reserved for someone doing a serious month-long cleanse (like for Gerson Therapy) or commercial applications.

Second to the Norwalk style juicers are the twin gear masticating juicers which are typically found in all the Green Star and some Omega Juicer models. in my opinion this is the best type of juicer to produce the most juice from a wide variety produce, whether you’re talking about leafy greens and fruits, or hard course veggies and herb roots like Ginger and carrots.

The Best Juicer To Buy For Home Use

The best juicer to buy for home use is going to come down to what you want to do with it, what kind of produce you primarily plans on juicing, and how much you want to spend. If you read a couple of the other paragraphs on this page, we talk about the difference between a leafy green specialty juicer, and a large fruits and veggies juicer. You’ll notice that there are two distinct differences between the recommended styles for your intended purpose, and if you ever want to juice things like wheatgrass, you definitely need to go with a masticating juicer.

It terms of which ones are the easiest to clean up, most of the single auger juicers and the centrifugal juicers are about the same. You don’t get into anything really messy unless you’re talking about doing cold pressed juicing.

In my opinion the best juicer to buy for your home or for non commercial use, is going to be one of these single auger masticating Omega juicers. They have models that are both cheap and affordable, but really good quality and can juice pretty much anything you throw at them. They’re good for leafy greens, Ginger, fruits, beets and anything else that you can think of.

If there’s one model that I had to recommend over all the others it’s going to be the Omega J8006 simply because it’s so affordable and does the job very very well.

What Is The Best Cheap Juicer On The Market?

The best cheap juicer on the market is going to be a centrifugal Breville, or a competing brand under $100. These can be purchased either on Amazon or department stores for between $60 and $99. They do have more expensive centrifugal juicers that are a little higher quality, but if you’re going to go this route you may as well get a masticating juicer or slow auger juicer that will allow you to get better yield out of a wide variety of different types of produce. Like we mentioned before, these cheaper centrifugal juicers like a Breville are going to do a great job at the majority of produce you throw at it, but when you start throwing in leafy greens and herbs, you’re simply going to be throwing your money away. There’s there just is not enough compression to squeeze the juice out of the tiny leaves, and most of it will end up in the trash bin.

That said, they’re still great health benefits to juicing apples, carrots, oranges, celery, cucumbers, and any other dense vegetables that work really really well in a cheap affordable Breville Juice Fountain. If you’re just getting started into juicing or you have a low budget, this is the best way to incorporate some better nutrition in your diet or start losing weight. If you’ve never juiced before, this is definitely a good juicer to start with, and you’ll be very happy you decided to give juicing a try when you start feeling the amazing benefits of fresh-squeezed juice everyday. Most people report natural weight loss, increased energy, better sleep, and more mental clarity after just a week of drinking fresh juice from their juicers. Which Breville Juicer Is Best For A Cheap Reliable Juicer To Get Started Juicing With?

There’s quite a bit of confusion about which Breville model is the best juicer to get started with. That’s understandable because they make soooo many models, and vary in price from around $100 all the way to $300 – $400. The best Breville model for a cheap reliable juicer is going to be either the JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus Around $150, or the Breville BJE200XL Compact juice extractor for around $90.

Both of these juicers have over 3,500 4.5 star reviews on Amazon, which is the best place to buy them from. They’re normally on sale with free shipping, and come complete with the factory Breville warranty

Fat, Sick, And Nearly Dead – Which Juicer Joe Used In The Film?

If you haven’t seen the film Fat Sick And Nearly Dead, in which Joe Cross heels himself for an autoimmune disease using juicing and lifestyle changes, you should definitely check it out! I’ll embed a clip of it below for you too)

The juicer that Joe uses in the film is the Breville je98xl Juice Fountain Plus, which is an 850-watt juice extractor juicing machine that has almost 4,000 4/2 star reviews across the internet. Joe recommends buying this model of Breville from Amazon.com, which is almost always a prime item with free shipping and retails for around $140 – $150 dollars.

There is one other model that many followers of fat sick and nearly dead have upgraded to, and said it was much better than the original Juice Fountain Plus that Joe recommended in the movie. Breville makes an alternative model that is both a juicer and a blender, and gives users trying different types of blending/juicing more flexibility on what they can make. Since it’s a dual purpose juicer and blender all in one, it’s kind of like two kitchen appliances in one, but that comes with a little more hefty price tag. Which Is Better For Beginners – A Juicer Or A Blender?

This is a hard question to answer, as both juicing and blending can be beneficial for your health and move the needle in a positive direction. In my opinion, juicing is superior in a couple ways, although blending is usually much easier to clean up after than most juicers. Personally I have done both, I have made juice from all types of masticating and centrifugal juicers, and I’ve also made shakes and smoothies when short on time. (Right now I’m trying the Joe Rogan kale shake Magic Bullet blender)

The cheapest way to get started i going the blender route. You can pick up a Magic Bullet blender like I’m using today, and trying one of the five kale recipes you can find on Joe Rogan kale shake recipes page.

However, If you’re looking for that surge of increase nutrition, or you’re trying to do a fast/juice cleanse to lose weight, then there’s simply no comparison to fresh juice everyday that you make at home in your kitchen. For me, I prefer juicing over blending, but sometimes lack the discipline to make it and clean the dang thing everyday… So blending is a good compromise at time. (that’s why I do both now) The biggest benefit to juicing instead of blending, is that your body doesn’t have to work hard to break down the produce. It’s already ground up and sinc the nutrients are introduced into the digestive tract as a liquid form, and require no additional energy from the body to break them down, the nutrients are rapidly absorbed and put to use right away. This is why this can be so powerful for people healing from disease, trying to clean themselves out doing a cleanse, or simply want to maximize nutritional intake during our busy fast-paced lifestyles. There simply is no comparison to the amount of nutrients that you can get in a 16 ounce glass of fresh juice compared to a 16 ounce glass of a smoothie. In my opinion both have their uses, and if you’re on a really tight budget it’s much cheaper to make shakes for breakfast using an inexpensive blender such as the Magic Bullet. If you can afford to spend a little bit more money, you will notice faster health benefits with an inexpensive masticating juicer that can handle plenty of leafy greens that most Americans normally don’t get from our fad diets

Which Juicer Is The Easiest To Clean?

Easiest juicer to clean ss definitely the Omega J8006 Nutrition Center juicer. it’s an easy-to-use masticating juicer with a powerful motor, but has high juice yield and auto pulp ejection that doesn’t get clogged in the middle of juicing. This also helps the juicer to be self cleaning during use, so when you’re finished and take it apart to clean it so it’s not all caked up and gunked up with a million different parts that you have to scrub. There are a couple of different models that have the same functionality, but are a little bit more affordable which are the j8003 and the j8005 single gear masticating juicers.

Which Masticating Juicer Is The Easiest To Clean

I’d have to say one of the single auger masticating juicers is going to be the easiest to clean, simply because there’s less internal parts. I did a separate post on the best masticating juicer on the market right now, and in my opinion, any of the Omega juicers are the easiest to clean in the industry. Of course if any company comes out with a self cleaning juicer, I’ll be the first to change my opinion if it’s any good! 🙂

Which Juicer Gives You The Most Juice? (highest yield)

The type of juicer that gives the most juice is going to be a masticating juicer hands down. For most people a commercial Norwalk style juicer is going to be out of reach at $1,200 +, and not really practical unless you really need it. Of all the masticating juicers that give the most juice, I’d have to hand this one to the Green Star winning here, with the Omega’s coming in a close second. Both will perform well and give you plenty of juice from leafy greens and fruits alike, it just depends on what your budget is as the Green Star is about twice the price of the Omega.

Which Juicer Extracts The Most Nutrients?

The juicer that extract the most nutrients is hands-down going to be the one that gives you the highest yield with the least amount of pulp, so that your body doesn’t spend time and energy breaking down any fibers that may be left behind. In my opinion the Green Star twin gear takes this one, since it gives you the ability to swap out the juicer screen so you can select the finest one for zero pulp. This will be the most nutrient-dense liquid you can possibly ingest, only beaten by a Norwalk.

Which Is Better A Juicer Or A Blender (smoothie maker)

Many people have a preference on which is better a juicer or a blender to make smoothies with, but the fact is the one that you will actually use everyday is the better choice. Scientifically speaking, fresh juice will allow you to get more nutrients into the body in a shorter period of time, while consuming less food compared to blending or drinking smoothies. The fact is though, you can’t make smoothies with a juicer.Certain things like bananas will clog a juicer immediately, and should be reserved for blending only.

The fiber you get from smoothies, which is still good for you, it just requires you to consume a much higher quantity to equal the same amount of predigested nutrients compared to juicing. If your trying to lose weight or do a fast, a juicing cleanse is definitely the way to go. (Personally, I have been blending making kale smoothies in the morning for breakfast as of late to save time and make sure I get my daily servings of fruits and veggies)

Which Juicer Brand Is The Best?

The best juicer brand is subjective to the person that you ask… it’s kind of like asking what’s what’s a better truck Ford or Chevy? I  personally love Green Star and Omega, both for the build quality, ease-of-use, quality juice extraction, and affordability. There are some people that love Breville Juice Fountains and are die-hard Breville fans, and consider them the best juicer brand on the planet. I think the one that resonates with you the most, and the one that you will use the most is the best brand for you. My top pick is the Omega 6008

Which Citrus Juicer Is Best? (Fruit Juicer)

If you strictly want to make fruit juice, or are looking to juice Citrus only like for an orange juice maker, this is the one occasion where a centrifugal wide mouth juicer, such as the Breville Juice Fountain, is the best choice. You should know up front that if you try to do herbs like parsley, or leafy greens like as kale or spinach, that you will have a hard time getting a decent yield out of any of fine leafed herbs or greens. However the ease in which you can to feed an entire orange through a wide mouth chute, and how fast it will go through your fruits and citrus, isn’t even comparable to using a masticating juicer. Inn this case you be the most happiest with a Breville Juice Fountain such as the model 800JEXL.

Which Commercial Juicer Is The Best?

The best commercial juicer it’s going to be either the Nutrifaster, or the Waring for a fresh juice bar application. For cold pressed juice bars that sell pre-packaged juice, a Norwalk Style crushing juicer is normally the preferred application in a refrigerated environment. The downside to this is setup time, typically a large refrigerated room for processing, and floor drainage because it makes one hell of a mess!

The main difference in most of these commercial juicers compared to a Green Star of Omega, is the quality of the internal parts. Most are all stainless steel, with all metal internal parts, so if they’re getting pounded everyday in a juice bar they can withstand that type of use. If you were to try that with a home use juicer, for one thing the plastic internals are going to wear out much quicker, and it’s highly likely that the motor will burn out since it’s much lower amperage, and not designed to be used all day everyday.

Which Centrifugal Juicer Is The Best?

The best centrifugal juicer for home use, is going to be either the Breville lineup or a Kuvings high speed wide mouth. When you get upwards of $200 + in price, I think you should think about investing in a masticating juicer instead, so you’ll be more likely to juice leafy greens and herbs which have a lot less sugar. Most centrifugal juicers are great for fruits and large veggies like cucumbers, but when you toss in some kale or swiss chard you don’t get much out on the other end.

Which Juicer Does Drew Canole Use?

Drew Canole uses a Kuvings wide mouth slow auger juicer on Fit Life TV. Although they buy their juice from a cold pressed juice supplier, and all their videos where they’re making fresh juice is in a Kuvings juicer what you can get for a couple hundred dollars on amazon.com with free shipping. I like the concept of the Kuvings vertical slow auger, since you can drop things into it and continue your chopping or prep and it automatically feeds your produce down into it.

I have heard a couple of reports about it getting clogged if you juice a lot of Ginger and carrots though… I think it’s something to do with the little drain holes in the strainer basket underneath the auger assembly. They may have fixed this on upcoming models, so check amazon and read some of the reviews to be sure.

How do I Know Which Juicer To Buy?

Here’s what you do. Decide what kind of produce you want to be able to juice… if that’s everything, then a masticating juicer is a must, so you can still get good extraction from your leafy greens.

Next, decide what your budget is. If you have a budget of under $300, get the Omega J8006.  If your budget is under $200, get the Omega J8003. Either one will serve you well, are easy to clean, produce the least foam, have the quietest motors in the industry, and are great buys that last for many years to come!
